The NFT project Pudgy Penguins and the marketplace OpenSea have joined forces to host a private tour of an undisclosed aquarium during the ongoing Consensus Miami crypto conference.
Organized by the crypto media house CoinDesk, the Consensus Miami conference focuses on cryptocurrency, artificial intelligence, digital asset policy, and the broader market. The event will run from May 5 to 7 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, with thousands of industry leaders in attendance.
According to a tweet from OpenSea, the aquarium tour was held from 8 pm to 11 pm EDT on May 5, the first day of the crypto event. The team behind the arrangement took registered participants on a deep dive at one of Miami’s most beautiful aquariums.
On the website promoting the event and the registration link, the Pudgy Penguins team said it would bring a one-of-a-kind experience to attendees. While keeping the aquarium’s name undisclosed, the team told participants to expect interactive moments, exclusive merch, and surprise activations. There was also an opportunity to connect with Pudgy creators, collectors, and the broader community.
“Come ready to explore, connect, and waddle into something unforgettable together,” Pudgy Penguins stated.
Highlights of the tour on X include a “Hall of Penguins” at the aquarium, featuring collectibles honoring community members who have contributed significantly to the project.
Besides the just-concluded tour, which gave community members an interactive experience, Pudgy Penguins has been taking significant strides in other directions. One of these is the project’s Solana validator crossing 100,000 staked SOL. The Pengu SOL Validator was activated in April 2025, offering stakers an avenue to earn a competitive annual percentage yield (APY) on their SOL while furthering the institutional adoption of PENGU.
In light of the latest milestone, the validator is paving the way for NFT-brand-operated validators on Solana and across the crypto ecosystem.
Additionally, Pudgy Penguins just announced a partnership with the wallet provider, MetaMask, to launch soulbound tokens (SBTs) for users. The SBTs, which have a claim period ending June 3, celebrate both Pudgy Penguins and MetaMask users and are available to MetaMask wallet users.
Aside from the MetaMask Penguin Open Edition SBT, there are two tiers exclusively for Lil Pudgy and Pudgy Penguin NFT holders.
