In Brief

Startale Group launches OFK and Startale Card at WebX 2026, expanding institutional blockchain infrastructure and everyday digital asset payments.

Startale Launches Onchain Finance Kits And Self-Custodial Payment Card To Connect Institutional Finance With Everyday Digital Asset Use

Startale Group has announced two new product launches at WebX 2026, unveiling Startale Onchain Finance Kits (OFK), a collection of proprietary onchain financial infrastructure tools for enterprises and financial institutions, alongside Startale Card, a self-custodial Visa card designed to allow users to spend their Soneium assets at any location that accepts Visa.

The launches form part of Startale’s broader strategy to develop infrastructure for the onchain economy, addressing both institutional demand for blockchain-based financial solutions and consumer demand for practical digital asset applications. While financial institutions are increasingly moving from blockchain trials toward real-world deployments, users are seeking more accessible ways to earn, store, and use digital assets in everyday transactions.

Infrastructure Tools for Institutional Onchain Adoption

Designed for enterprises and financial institutions, Startale OFK aims to support organizations transitioning from traditional financial systems to onchain infrastructure across markets including Japan and the United States.

Startale said its experience working with corporations, financial institutions, and ecosystem partners has contributed to the development of blockchain solutions including Soneium, JPYSC, Strium, Startale App, and other enterprise-focused initiatives. The company has built expertise across areas such as institutional trading, bond issuance, privacy technology, developer infrastructure, blockchain development, and stablecoins.

Based on this experience, Startale OFK provides a ready-to-deploy framework intended to simplify the development of onchain financial services without requiring organizations to create core infrastructure independently. The offering covers areas including stablecoin infrastructure, wallet infrastructure, digital asset tools, privacy infrastructure, developer infrastructure, and blockchain and settlement infrastructure.

Startale plans to expand the platform with additional tokenization infrastructure and custody wallet API tools to support the development of regulated digital asset markets and financial services.

“Financial institutions are no longer asking whether onchain finance will become part of the future financial system. They are asking how to participate,” said Sota Watanabe, CEO of Startale Group in a written statement. “OFK represents the experience, infrastructure, and expertise we have built over years of working with enterprises and institutions. Our goal is to help organizations move faster, reduce complexity, and unlock new opportunities in the onchain economy,” he added.

Startale Card Connects Digital Assets With Everyday Payments

Alongside its institutional infrastructure offering, Startale introduced Startale Card, expanding the functionality of the Startale App as the “App for More than Money.”

The platform currently enables users to earn, trade, access Mini Apps, and receive rewards within the Soneium ecosystem. Through Startale Card and future earning features, users will be able to place eligible assets into yield-generating vaults while maintaining the ability to spend against those holdings, combining saving, earning, and payments within a single experience.

Developed on Soneium, the Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain created with Sony Group, Startale Card links users’ onchain balances to payments at more than 150 million merchants worldwide that support Visa transactions. Unlike traditional crypto payment cards that rely on custodial accounts or require assets to be locked, eligible holdings can continue generating yield until they are used for payments. Users will also receive cashback rewards in USDSC directly credited to their accounts.

“We’ve always believed onchain technology should improve everyday financial experiences, not complicate them. With Startale Card, Startale App evolves into a platform where users can seamlessly manage, grow, and spend their wealth. This marks a major milestone in our vision to become the App for More than Money,” said Sota Watanabe.

The Startale Card waitlist is now available through the Startale App ahead of its public launch. Startale stated that the combination of OFK and Startale Card reflects its goal of connecting traditional financial systems with blockchain networks by enabling institutions to develop new financial products while providing consumers with additional ways to manage, grow, and use digital assets.
